Club Facilities

Acton Bridge Tennis Club has two tarmac courts available, as well as a practice wall. The courts are locked when not in use (as of 1st May 2009) and the security code is available to members. This code will be sent out to members with Shoe Tags at the time of new Membership or renewal.

The Village Hall is also available to members for washroom and refreshment facilities. Members with key sets are able to open the Hall as required, and have access to the Bowling Green to recover lost tennis balls.

Court Resurfacing

The Committee is delighted to report that, due to generous funding provided by Sport England the courts have now been re-surfaced. The final re-painting of the newly re-surfaced courts will not take place until the warmer weather arrives in Spring 2012, but temporary lines have been marked to allow play in the interim.

Sport England are presenting a cheque for £20,000 to the club, with the local media covering the event, at the courts on Monday 13th Feb, at 1.00pm. Our local MP will be there. We are trying to get together as many members as we can for this event, so please turn up if you can! We'd particularly like some of our younger members to come along (with it being half term, hopefully some of you can).

Club Rules

Members should play in proper tennis attire. Track suits are permissible in poor weather conditions. Members must wear appropriate tennis footwear, with non marking soles. ALL members must wear current Shoe Tags.

If other Club members are waiting to play, then play a short set in singles, or ideally play doubles to free up a court. When you have finished playing, please slacken off the nets, and take all rubbish with you, including old tennis balls and ball tube lids. Lock the courts using the padlocks, and scramble the padlock combination.

Precedence must be given to matches, coaching and organised Club sessions at all times.

As an advisory note, players are personally responsible for decisions regarding the suitability of playing conditions. The Tennis Club accepts no responsibility for personal injury or tennis equipment damage.

Please see the Courts Summer Schedule.
